Self- Care

Today began with me neglecting myself, and by the evening, I could feel the weight of it. I completed my wellness planner first thing this morning, but as I looked over my to-do list, I realized none of it poured back into me. Everything was about responsibilities, tasks, and showing up for everyone else. Something felt off.

Instead of ignoring that feeling, I chose differently. I took myself to a coffee shop for a little alone time. I worked for a bit, listened to 112’s first album on repeat (I love 90s R&B!), and spent some time journaling. Just one quiet hour dedicated to myself shifted everything.

In the past, my lack of self-care has shown up in so many ways—through my skin, my eating habits, and even moments where I felt myself spiraling emotionally and creatively. But I’m learning that caring for myself isn’t optional; it’s necessary. I’m reclaiming my choices and becoming more intentional about tending to me.

And after giving myself that space tonight, I feel lighter. Refreshed. Smiling again.

I’m also realizing how deeply connected my creativity is to my well-being. When I neglect myself, I feel creatively depleted too. That’s why I’m especially excited about something new I’m exploring this week: I’m taking a sewing class. It may seem small, but to me, it feels like opening a door I left closed for too long.

This is your reminder—and mine—to take care of yourself. You matter, too.
